GET OUT OF THE LEFT LANE!!!
I just got home from vacation out near Pittsburgh, PA (more on that later). Instead of taking I-80 across PA and fighting through endless 20 mile lane closures so that one PennDOT guy can stand on the side of the road drinking coffee, we took I-90 across NY, then shot down I-79. Although we got across NY faster than PA despite the extra 40 miles, we spent most of that time in lines of slow moving traffic in the left lane, trapped behind one idiot who refused to move over to the right lane where they belonged. Why, NY drivers? Why???

And people wonder why FL drivers are left-lane hogs. More than half of FL (especially during the winter) is from NY and NJ.

It’s not even taught in driver’s ed here, and I haven’t seen the rule I’m the handbook, so I just go around these people when I see them and try not to get mad because they probably have zero idea of what they’re doing wrong

Because the cops care more about the guy doing 70 in a 60 than the guy doing 50 in a 60.

I actually saw a car with this sticker the other day, made me laugh. Yes I saw it my rear view mirror, no I didn’t move over. The Jerkass was riding my butt while the traffic around me and anyone on the road permitted no additional speed.

It happens here in MA, but not as consistently as in NY. It feels like I spent the entire length of the state stuck.

I honk and flash etc. as I’m roll up, but only if they are the culprite, otherwise I just wait till I can get by in one of the other lanes, or the slowpoke finally moves over. Also my car has a badge on it that makes it look more rediculous so most times people move as a WTF reflex when they see me coming. Also I flash the hazards as a thank you once Ive passed.

I80 was slow yesterday, we had to deal with slow PA drivers in the left lane. At least the RVs on the road kept on the right when necessary.

Saw a car with this the other day. While amusing, it seems like a rather dickish thing to have. I imagine cops love that guy.

I was driving through Portland one time, some guy in an MDX was riding my tail like crazy. I couldn’t go any faster because I was already following the car in front of me at a safe enough distance. That is also why I didn’t move over. Then all of a sudden, the aforementioned genius passes me on the right and sandwiches himself in between me and the car in front of me.

People with PA plates are definitely the worst at this. But in reality its just everywhere. I imagine it is just poor driver education and lack of enforcement.

I’ll bet you saw some interesting “war wagons” heading home from Pennsic as well. They were the ones covered in tan dust. I’ll be writing an article about them later this week.

Don’t forget to include New Mexico. Lots of ‘Left lane is my birth right” drivers here
